We have some significant Alaska cruise news today, including problems aboard Royal Princess and a major fire at Whittier's new cruise terminal. Royal Princess has experienced mechanical and technical issues during her current Alaska sailing, causing the ship to miss both Ketchikan and Juneau. Thankfully, passengers were still able to visit Skagway, Victoria and — very importantly — experience beautiful Glacier Bay. The crew has been working on the problem and the ship has been able to increase speed, but missing two major Alaska ports is a substantial itinerary change. Allison shares what Princess is giving passengers in compensation and why she's watching closely to see whether the next Royal Princess sailing will be affected. We also have news from Whittier, Alaska, where a major fire broke out at the new Chugach Glacier Gateway Cruise Terminal. Emergency crews responded, the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel was temporarily affected to allow emergency vehicles through, and Norwegian Jade had to use Whittier's other terminal.
