Did We Make the Right Choice? Celebrity Silhouette Review
In this honest cruise review, we each share five things we loved—and the things we would change—about Celebrity Silhouette. From outstanding service and excellent food to a disappointing sailaway party and some noticeable staffing cutbacks, we’re giving you our complete assessment of this popular Solstice-class ship. We are Kris and Melanie from Dockside Travel. We’ve been cruising for more than 20 years—dozens of sailings, nearly 300 nights at sea—across most mainstream cruise lines. In this video, we cover: 🚢 Celebrity Silhouette’s design, layout and atmosphere ⭐ The return of “old-school Celebrity” service 🍽️ Dining in the main dining room, buffet, Murano and Tuscan Grille 🌅 The redesigned Sunset Bar and other smart improvements 🛏️ Our Concierge Class balcony stateroom 🎭 Nightlife, entertainment and the ship’s central atrium 🥂 The benefits of sailing in Concierge Class 🌴 Our Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel itinerary 💃 The disappointing sailaway party 🍷 Staffing cutbacks at certain bars and in the dining room 🔌 The limited electrical outlets inside the stateroom ⚓ The security bottleneck when returning from port 🎶 Gaps and overlaps in the entertainment schedule 🔎 A few places where the ship is beginning to show its age ✅ Whether we would sail aboard Celebrity Silhouette again Celebrity Silhouette isn’t the newest ship in the fleet, but its comfortable size, traditional design, excellent crew and easy evening flow reminded us why we enjoy Celebrity’s Solstice-class ships so much. By the time we reached our fourth and fifth criticisms, we were genuinely struggling to find things we didn’t like! We also sailed Celebrity Beyond immediately before this cruise, giving us a fresh perspective on the differences between Celebrity’s Solstice and Edge-class ships. Watch to the end for our final Silhouette verdict—and stay tuned for our head-to-head comparison of Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Beyond.
