Sapphire Princess: We Had 45 Days Left… And THIS Happened!

We’re spending 47 days aboard Sapphire Princess—and by Day 2, something had already gone wrong. Michael tried to purchase Princess Cruises Wi-Fi for the current cruise segment and was told they couldn’t sell it to him the way he wanted. Here’s what was happening. Our 47 days on Sapphire Princess were actually made up of multiple cruise bookings, but the Princess app was recognizing all of those separate cruise segments as one continuous 47-day booking. Because of that app glitch, they initially couldn’t sell us Wi-Fi separately by booking and the system wanted the internet purchase associated with the entire 47-day journey. We ended up buying two days of Wi-Fi while Princess worked on the problem. They eventually found a way for us to purchase the Wi-Fi separately by cruise booking. That mattered to us because we both work while traveling—and the Wi-Fi performance we were already experiencing aboard Sapphire Princess was making that difficult. But Day 2 wasn’t all frustration. This was our first full sea day after leaving Copenhagen as Sapphire Princess sailed through the Baltic Sea toward Gdynia, Poland. We head outside on a beautiful sunny day, check out the pools and aft decks, enjoy the wake views, and hear the captain’s navigational update as we sail near Germany’s island of Rügen and Cape Arkona.
