Princess Cruises has received a troubling sanitation inspection report for Emerald Princess, and today we're also talking about something a little more fun: What kind of traveler are you? Hi there! This is Allison with Let's Go! Travel Tips! Today is October 18, 2026, and we're on Cruise Date 13 of our 50-day Grand Mediterranean Odyssey aboard Island Princess. We're enjoying another beautiful sea day as we make our way toward Cartagena, Spain, followed by Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona. And I have to tell you, I'm beginning to understand why so many people love sea days! There's something wonderful about having time to slow down, visit with friends, and simply enjoy being aboard a cruise ship. First, we're discussing a concerning sanitation inspection involving Emerald Princess. According to a recently reported CDC inspection, the ship received a draft score of 78, below the passing score of 86. The reported concerns include food temperatures, equipment cleanliness, flies in food areas, and moldy produce. We're also comparing some of the cleaning practices we've personally noticed aboard Majestic Princess and Island Princess. Neither ship has seemed dirty to us, but we've noticed differences in how frequently certain cleaning tasks are performed. Then we're having some fun talking about four kinds of travelers! Are you a Planner, Explorer, Relaxer, or Foodie? Gordon and I are definitely a mixture, and I think most people probably are. I'm particularly drawn to planning and exploring, because I love learning about the places we're visiting while leaving room for those unexpected moments that make travel magical.
