Join us for an unforgettable day in Izmir, Turkey during our Norwegian Viva cruise! 🇹🇷🚢 Today, we’re taking you along on our excursion from the port of Izmir to two incredible historic destinations: the House of Mary and the ancient city of Ephesus. We start our day leaving the port and making our way to the House of Mary, a site traditionally believed to be where Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent her final years. From there, we head to Ephesus, one of the most fascinating ancient cities we’ve ever visited. We explore the ancient streets, theater, Great Assembly Hall, library, and other incredible ruins while learning about the city’s connection to early Christianity and its place in history. But the adventure doesn’t stop there! We also visit a Turkish rug shop and see how traditional handmade Turkish rugs are made, check out Turkish leather craftsmanship, and even find ourselves at a surprise fashion show! And yes… we ended up bringing a Turkish rug home with us! 🇹🇷🧿 After an incredible day exploring Turkey, we head back to the Norwegian Viva, grab dinner at Indulge Food Hall, and relax on our balcony while watching the ship sail away from Izmir. Tomorrow, we’re headed to Istanbul, Turkey for another adventure!
