Blue Lagoon Vanuatu Review and Tour - Best Things to Do in Port Vila with Kids + How to Get There
This Blue Lagoon Vanuatu review and tour at Eton on Efate reveals how to get there from Port Vila, the entry fee and cost, parking, rope swings, snorkelling, toilets, shade and things to do with kids. When my ship Quantum of the Seas docked in Port Vila during a Royal Caribbean South Pacific cruise, I spent the port day out at Blue Lagoon with the kids. This is my full review and POV tour of this amazing Vanuatu activity. While I filmed it on a cruise stop, nothing about the day changes if you are staying on the island. It is one of the best things to do in Port Vila for families, and I made this video to show exactly how it works before you commit an afternoon to it. The first thing to sort is how to get to Blue Lagoon from Port Vila. The kids and I jumped in a taxi at the cruise terminal and paid him to be our driver for the whole day. A drive of about 40 minutes each way, and I cover that along with the parking on arrival. If you would rather sort it yourself, a local bus or a hire car may suit, and plenty of organised Blue Lagoon tours pair the attraction with nearby Eton Beach. Bauerfield International Airport sits right in Port Vila too, so fly-in visitors face the same trip out. And as one of the best Vanuatu holiday activities for families and toursits in general, it's worth the effort. Blue Lagoon's location is at Eton, on the east coast of Efate, with a hilarious listed address of Unnamed Road should you want to find it on a map. It is a natural blue hole where fresh water meets the tide, ringed by trees, running to about 7 feet deep in the main swimming area. I walk you through the full swimming hole layout so you know where everything sits as you're weighing up whtat to do in Efate. I came in through the west entrance, where the entry fee price worked out to around AU$20 for my family of five. Prices vary because each entrance is run separately and sets its own fee, and it is cash only, so bring vatu from town. In the review I break down the total cost and how the whole thing runs once you are inside. I cover the rope swings and the tree jumps in full, along with my snorkelling in the lagoon itself. Between the swinging, jumping and snorkelling, you get three proper Port Vila activities for one admission. Not to mention an escape from the heat, which families with kids in Vanuatu will want to do. There are no easy to access food shops on site, so pack your own lunch and drinks. I take you through the toilets, the seating and tables, and where to find shade, then give my honest read on which ages get the most out of it. For my money it is easily one of the best things to do in Vanuatu with kids.
