Pompeii Italy — Naples Cruise Port Guide
In 79 AD Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the Roman city of Pompeii under nearly 20 feet of volcanic ash — preserving it exactly as it was. We spent half a day walking its streets on our Disney Magic Mediterranean cruise excursion from Naples, and nothing could have prepared us for what we saw. If seeing the casts is important to you, make sure you specifically ask about this when shopping for tours — not every excursion includes that area.
