Royal Caribbean Drink Package Exceptions Are Back?
Royal Caribbean may be allowing some Deluxe Beverage Package exceptions again. In August 2025, Royal Caribbean eliminated the previous exception that allowed one adult to purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package while another adult in the same stateroom purchased the non-alcoholic Refreshment Package. Royal Caribbean's currently published policy still states that guests purchasing an alcoholic beverage package must purchase it for all guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom. But as of September 2026, I'm hearing about a new case-by-case accommodation process for situations involving circumstances such as pregnancy, medical conditions or disabilities. Guests have reported calling Royal Caribbean and receiving a form to request an accommodation. If approved, the guest who cannot consume alcohol may be able to purchase the Refreshment Package instead. Important: this does not appear to be a blanket exception, approval is not guaranteed, and Royal Caribbean's public website has not yet been updated to reflect this process. If this applies to your reservation, contact Royal Caribbean directly and ask whether you can submit a beverage-package accommodation request. Have you tried this new process?
