The journey from Fiumicino Airport cost €11 per person, with one change at Roma Trastevere. My Uber quote to my accommodation was €103 per car, so the train was a considerable saving. I bought my ticket from a machine at the airport station, and the whole journey took around two hours, including the change. 📍 Fiumicino Aeroporto → Roma Trastevere → Civitavecchia My main tip is to allow time with your luggage. There are lifts, but they can be busy. At Civitavecchia, I walked further along the platform and found another staircase with no queue, while the first was packed with people and suitcases. The train brings you to Civitavecchia station rather than directly to your ship. I stayed overnight before boarding, but if you are heading straight to the terminal, the port website lists a shuttle from outside the station for €6 per person. You can also buy train tickets through the Trenitalia app. If you buy a paper regional ticket, remember to validate it in a station machine before boarding. I found the journey straightforward and would happily take the train again. Save this route for your cruise from Rome!!🇮🇹🛳️ . . . . . . #royalcaribbean #civitavecchia #cruisetips #cruiseport #odysseyoftheseas
