Then stick with us as the day lights up with the unforgettable Glowdeo, a dazzling drone show, and a fireworks finale that brings it all home. Whether you're planning your first visit or coming back for more, this is your inside look at the best day you can have at Balloon Fiesta—no matter what the weather throws your way. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta began in 1972 with just 13 balloons and has grown into the largest hot air balloon festival in the world, now featuring over 500 balloons and pilots from across the globe. Held each October at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, the event spans nine days and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. Beyond the breathtaking mass ascensions, you’ll find a lively midway packed with food vendors, local artisans, and unique Southwestern goods, making it just as much a cultural festival as it is an aviation spectacle.
