Is Norwegian Cruise Line Turning Its Back on Solo Cruisers?
Is Norwegian Cruise Line changing the strategy that made it one of the most popular cruise lines for solo travelers? For years, Norwegian Cruise Line has been one of the first cruise lines I recommended to people cruising alone. I've been tracking solo cruise fares and reduced-single-supplement deals across multiple cruise lines for more than a year, and recently I've noticed a significant shift in the deals available on Norwegian. At the same time, NCL has confirmed a major change to the way it prices cruises, moving toward a "base-loading" strategy designed to establish more competitive pricing earlier in the booking cycle and reduce reliance on close-in discounting. For solo travelers, that could matter a lot. Your booking strategy should be willing to change with them.
