Hello everyone! Today I'm catching you up on Cruise Days 22 and 23 of our 50-day Grand Mediterranean Odyssey aboard the beautiful Island Princess! We enjoyed a relaxing sea day, followed by a wonderful visit to Crete, Greece, where we docked in Souda and took the shuttle into the beautiful town of Chania. Our visit happened to fall on Ohi Day, an important Greek national holiday commemorating Greece's resistance during World War II. We were fortunate to see a military parade and some of the special observances taking place in town. We also enjoyed walking along the beautiful harbor, visiting shops, and having a delicious lunch before the rain finally caught up with us! But today's video includes several important cruise updates. First, we're talking about the increasing number of cruise ports where passengers are being charged for shuttle transportation. Our shuttle in Crete cost $15 per person round trip, and I'll share what we've learned about these charges, how to purchase shuttle tickets, and what other options might be available. I also want to share an unfortunate incident we witnessed while waiting in the rain to reboard the ship. It's a good reminder that we should always treat crew members with patience, kindness, and respect, even when things don't go as planned. And finally, SodaGate is back! After going most of this cruise without any problems, I was charged for a Diet Coke despite having a beverage package. I'll explain what happened and how we had the charge removed. Have you noticed more cruise ports charging for shuttles? I'd love to hear what you're experiencing on your cruises!
