Soroi Lions Bluff: Tsavo’s Top Resort + Man Eating Lions of Tsavo 🇰🇪

Explore one of Kenya's most underrated safari lodges! In this episode of Mad Traveler, we travel from Voi on Kenya's Madaraka Express to Soroi Lions Bluff Lodge, perched high above the LUMO Conservancy on the border of Tsavo West National Park. Our guide Sammy leads us to the wildlife sighting of the entire Kenya trip—not in the famous Masai Mara, but right here in LUMO Conservancy, where we spend nearly 90 unforgettable minutes alone with three lionesses. We also learn about the shocking arrest of zebra poachers caught with a sack full of bush meat while we were staying at the lodge, and discover how conservation efforts are protecting wildlife in this remarkable corner of Kenya. And I detail my inspiration for coming to this place: the remarkable story of the 1898 man eating lions, who ate at least 35 people. If you're planning a Kenya safari and wondering whether Tsavo West deserves a spot on your itinerary, this episode may surprise you.
