Cruising out of Galveston soon? Here's what you need to know before you arrive. First things first: Galveston does NOT have a major airport. Most cruisers fly into: Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) From either airport, you'll need transportation to Galveston, which is typically a 45-minute to 1-hour drive depending on traffic. My recommendation? Arrive the day before your cruise. It gives you: Protection against flight delays A more relaxing start to your vacation Time to enjoy Galveston before embarkation day If you're driving, I recommend reserving parking in advance. The Port of Galveston offers: North Lot (closest to the terminal) South Lot (slightly farther but with shuttle service) Both are convenient options and make embarkation day much easier.
