Reroute Due To Safety Concerns
We discuss Royal Caribbean's decision to reroute cruises from their private Haitian enclave, Labadee, due to safety concerns. I explain that while this prioritizes passenger safety, the cruise contract allows itinerary changes without refunds, which may disappoint those expecting a beach day in Haiti. I share my perspective as a lawyer who has sued cruise lines, including for incidents at Labadee, and suggest that refunds should be considered when the cruise experience changes significantly.
