Come along with us for a full Princess Cruises embarkation day as we board the Regal Princess in Fort Lauderdale and take you through what our first day onboard actually looks like—from arriving at Port Everglades to dinner at Sabatini’s. Princess Cruises has brought back arrival groups, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect when we arrived for our 10:00 AM boarding time. As cruisers who normally show up VERY early, this was a little different for us—but the entire process ended up being surprisingly smooth. We arrived at Terminal 2, parked in the garage, walked over to the terminal, checked in and were onboard with very little waiting. Once onboard, we take you through our normal embarkation-day routine—including our first stop on the Lido Deck, completing muster, checking out the casino, and one of our favorite embarkation-day traditions: lunch in the Main Dining Room instead of fighting the crowds at the buffet. Then it's time to settle into the cabin, sail away from Fort Lauderdale, make our first casino visit of the cruise (which definitely could have gone better 😂), enjoy a drink and some jazz at the Wheelhouse Bar, and finish the night with dinner at Sabatini's, our go-to restaurant for the first night of a Princess cruise. If you have an upcoming Princess cruise—or you're simply curious what embarkation day is really like—this is the entire experience from arrival to the end of night one.
