Nikon P1100 125x Ultra Zoom Field Test | Sydney Harbour Ferry | 3000mm Zoom Demo
In this video, I test the Nikon P1100 ultra-zoom camera in real-world conditions while on board a Sydney Harbour ferry. The camera features an impressive 125x optical zoom (24–3000mm equivalent), making it suitable for capturing both wide scenes and distant subjects. The footage includes a variety of Sydney Harbour landmarks and moving subjects, such as: The Sydney Opera House The Sydney CBD skyline Holland America Line’s cruise ship Noordam Ferries, boats, yachts, and harbour traffic All shots are captured handheld from a moving ferry, providing a practical field test of the camera’s zoom range, stabilisation, autofocus behaviour, and image quality across different focal lengths and lighting conditions. This video demonstrates how the Nikon P1100 performs when tracking moving subjects, transitioning between wide and extreme telephoto views, and handling real-world challenges such as vibration, distance, and changing scenes. Both strengths and limitations observable during use are shown without commentary or subjective judgement. The video is presented as a straightforward field test — viewers are encouraged to watch the footage and draw their own conclusions about the camera’s performance.
