Have you ever wondered what happens when your cruise ship can't dock at the pier? Welcome back to Day 6 aboard Celebrity Xcel! Today we're visiting George Town in Grand Cayman, which is a tender port. That means the ship anchors offshore and passengers are transported to land on smaller boats called tenders. The tender ride itself is quick—usually just 5 to 10 minutes—but here's a pro tip: always allow extra time for lines and boarding, especially on busy port days. You'll need your SeaPass card and a photo ID, and don't forget to grab a complimentary beach towel before heading ashore. Another tip? Don't wait until the last tender of the day to return to the ship. Afternoon lines can get surprisingly long! We didn't book an excursion today. Instead, we decided to be spontaneous and hop on one of the local beach shuttles available right outside the port. For just $20 per person roundtrip, it seemed like a great value and an easy way to get out and explore. One of my favorite parts about traveling is that not every adventure needs to be planned down to the minute. Sometimes the best memories happen when you simply say "yes" and see where the day takes you. Come back tomorrow to see the famous Seven Mile Beach, consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean! 🏖️ 🌎 The world is filled with incredible places waiting to be discovered.
