We Didn’t Expect THIS in Sitka, Alaska 🐻🦅
Explore Sitka, Alaska on an independent 4K POV port day during our Norwegian Bliss Alaska cruise. Instead of a traditional shore excursion, we rented a car with Turo and explored at our own pace — St. Michael’s Cathedral, downtown Sitka, the Alaska Raptor Center, and the beautiful waterfront. At the Alaska Raptor Center we got close views of bald eagles and other birds of prey while learning about their rescue and rehabilitation work — one of the top things to do in Sitka. Fortress of the Bear was closed during our visit due to the extended winter season. They generously provided exclusive footage of the orphaned brown bears and black bears currently in their care so we could still share their important mission. Fortress of the Bear rescues and provides lifelong homes for orphaned and displaced bears while educating visitors about Alaska wildlife conservation.
