Our Private Phi Phi Island Longtail Boat Tour | Pileh Bay, Loh Samah Bay, Viking Cave & Maya Bay
Come along with me on a private Phi Phi Island longtail boat tour in Thailand! 🇹🇭 On this adventure, my daughter, grandson and I explored the incredible waters and limestone cliffs around Phi Phi Leh, including the Maya Bay area, Viking Cave, Pileh Bay, Pileh Wall and Loh Samah Bay, before heading back toward Phi Phi Don and eventually stopping at Tonsai Pier for some shopping and food. At Loh Samah Bay, my daughter had another opportunity to snorkel and see the beautiful clear water and marine life around Phi Phi. 🤿💙 We were staying at Phi Phi Holiday Resort, and rather than joining a large group tour, we booked a private longtail boat excursion with our own captain. The excursion was about 4–5 hours, and we had plenty of time to enjoy each stop. One of the things I loved most was simply being out on the open water. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the water was clear, and the limestone formations around Phi Phi were incredible. 💙 We entered the Maya Bay area, but during our August visit we could not stop at the beach because of the seasonal closure for environmental recovery. We continued on to our other stops, including Viking Cave, Pileh Bay and Pileh Wall, where we had the opportunity to get into the water. And then… every content creator's nightmare happened. 😂📱 My phone ran out of storage! Unfortunately, it happened after I had already swum over to the little beach area near Pileh Wall, so I lost the opportunity to film some of what I experienced there. My other phone was back at the resort charging because I had just finished filming my Phi Phi Holiday Resort tour before heading out. But that's travel—and that's content creation! Sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment and keep going. ❤️ We were able to stop at Tonsai Pier, where we had about 45 minutes to an hour to shop, eat and explore before our captain picked us up and took us back to Phi Phi Holiday Resort. 🛥️ A Few Things To Know Before Taking a Phi Phi Longtail Boat Tour This type of excursion may not be comfortable for everyone. The longtail boat can rock quite a bit when the water is choppy, so anyone prone to seasickness should take that into consideration. You'll also need to be comfortable walking through some shallow water and climbing a small ladder to get into the boat. For us, it was absolutely worth it. My daughter loved the adventure, I enjoyed being on the water, and my grandson apparently decided the best way to experience Phi Phi was to sleep through part of the ride! 😂 This was a private excursion, so we had the boat to ourselves and weren't traveling with a large group of tourists. Would I do it again?
