Our first visit to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of our MSC World America cruise! In this vlog, we arrive at Taino Bay aboard MSC World America and start the day with breakfast overlooking the Dominican Republic before watching the ship dock in port. Once ashore, we explore the beautiful Taino Bay cruise port, check out the pools, cabanas, tiki bar, inflatables, and enjoy incredible views of MSC World America. Since it's our first time here, we decide to leave the port and explore downtown Puerto Plata on foot. Along the way, we see horses, navigate to the famous Umbrella Street without internet, visit the beautiful Cathedral of St. Philip the Apostle, explore the town square, browse a local artisan market, and share our honest thoughts about safety while walking around the city. After several hours of exploring, we return to Taino Bay to cool off, relax by the surfing area, and enjoy some pool time before heading back onboard MSC World America. The evening continues with dinner at Esagono, a comedy show that we highly recommend, a visit to Sweet Temptations, a look at the indoor pool and hot tubs, and we finish the night at a fun party on Deck 18.
