Today we explored Rome in one unforgettable day from our cruise stop in Civitavecchia, Italy! 🇮🇹🚢 We took the Trenitalia train from Civitavecchia to Roma San Pietro, starting our adventure near Vatican City. Our first stop was the beautiful Santa Maria delle Grazie alle Fornaci fuori Porta Cavalleggeri, a stunning 14th-century church hidden near St. Peter’s. After breakfast, we walked into Vatican City, saw the Swiss Guards, and soaked in the breathtaking view from St. Peter’s Square. Unfortunately, the Vatican Museums were closed for Easter Monday, but the day got even better when a taxi driver offered us an unexpected 2-hour private Rome tour. In just one day we visited: • Several Ancient Egyptian obelisks • Janiculum Hill • Michelangelo’s house • Pantheon • Trevi Fountain • Jewish Quarter • The first shopping center in history • The Roman Colosseum Then we made our way back to the train station, returned to Civitavecchia, and caught the shuttle bus back to the ship. If you're cruising to Rome and only have one day, this is the perfect itinerary! #Rome #CruisePortDay #VaticanCity #Colosseum #Civitavecchia #ItalyTravel #CruiseVlog
