What Side of the SHIP should you CHOOSE? Port or Starboard?
I’ve got a cruise to Hawaii booked — and it wasn’t until AFTER I chose my balcony cabin that I stopped and thought… If I'm paying extra for a balcony — and extra again to choose the exact cabin — does it matter whether I've booked on the port or starboard side? In this video, I break down port vs starboard in a simple, real-world way — including sunsets vs sunrises, itinerary direction, scenic cruising (like New Zealand and the Sounds), and when cabin side genuinely matters… and when it really doesn’t. I also share why I’m quietly relieved my non-thinking brain accidentally booked me on the port side — because if there’s one thing about me, it’s this: I love sunsets… and I’m rarely awake for sunrises. So I learned my lesson and now booked a solo cabin from Barcelona to South Hampton in a balcony that will give me every beautiful sunset along the way! As always, this is based on real cruising experience — not rules. Your pros might be my cons, and I’d love to hear what you think.
