Our year-long Pacific crossing continues as we prepare to leave Tahiti and set course for the remote Tuamotu Archipelago aboard our single-engine Selene trawler. With bad weather approaching, time is running short and the departure checklist is long. Before we can begin the next leg of our South Pacific adventure, we need to gather provisions, visit the chandlery, make a stop at the hardware store, and top off our fuel tanks for the journey ahead. Fortunately, Papeete, Tahiti is the perfect place in French Polynesia to prepare for an ocean passage, offering everything cruisers need before heading into some of the most remote islands in the Pacific Ocean.
