Is the Carnival Adventure really as bad as the reviews say? Since becoming part of the Carnival fleet it has received many scathing reviews regarding décor, food, staff service, cleanliness and many more. We booked a 4 night cruise from Sydney to Moreton Island and back to find out for ourselves if the reviews hold any truth. I think you will be surprised to see what we discovered. In this video, we dive into the negative feedback surrounding the ship, including reports of poor food quality, subpar service, and age and general maintenance of the ship. We explore if this ship lives up to the "Carnival" reputation or if it's a skip. Formerly the P&O Pacific Adventure, this 26 year old ship has officially joined the Carnival family, bringing "Big Fun" to Australia and Asia. In this video, we try to discover if the bad reviews surrounding the ship are true. Food reviews.... Buffet: We discovered the food in the buffet is mostly good. It does get pretty crowded in the buffet, every day and we didn't witness many people wash their hands before entering. Breakfast was a let down unfortunately. Not a huge selection of food, cold, runny and just disappointing overall. The pastries were nice however and there is always a good fruit selection. Lunch was better, a bit hit and miss but most dishes were at least hot, and usually pretty flavourful. There seems to be a general selection of fish, Indian, Mexican, Asian and a carvery....Dishes change slightly each day. Dinner was always pretty good. We had a great dinner when we ate in the buffet and really couldn't complain about the selection. Waterfront: Our breakfast at Waterfront restaurant was a disappointment, however our dinner there was really good. Nice, hot food, quick to serve and our servers were wonderful people. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. Angelos: This is the included Italian restaurant and it was also very good. It is only open for dinner (serves breakfast in there as well but is the same menu as waterfront). All three meals we had here were fabulous, we highly recommend. Dragon lady: This is the included Asian fusion restaurant. We always have a good feed here. The food is always exceptional and plenty to choose from. Overall the ship is 26 years old so she does show her age. But she is still well maintained and functional. The décor is not too outdated or gawdy and is generally easy on the eye. The layout of the ship is functional, it is pretty easy to find your way around. The only confusing place to find is Dragon lady, hidden on deck 6 aft only accessible by one specific lift of the aft stairs from deck 7. Staff are amazing. We didn't run into any issues with staff at all. All smiling, dancing, happy to interact, get to know you and your favourite drink and have it ready to go before you even get to the bar. They truly make your holiday so much more enjoyable. After reading the reviews and then going on this ship ourselves we find it strange that people are complaining about these things. You won't always enjoy all of the food, it is very subjective, it is a budget cruise line so overall you get what you pay for....regardless of whether you are not a fan of the food, or you miss a stop like we did, couldn't get off on Moreton Island...each cruise holiday is always what you make it. Just go on with a positive mind, have fun, enjoy yourself and make some memories! Do not let the reviews scare out of a good holiday!!
