Epic Abel Tasman Adventure | Seals, Snapper & Hidden Beaches
Join us for an unforgettable two-day boating adventure through one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastal destinations—Abel Tasman National Park. Our weekend begins with an unexpected stop at a colourful kite festival on the way to Marahau before launching our little Nifty boat from Sandy Bay. With the tide almost out, we had a long walk to the water, but the launching wheels made the job easy. From there, we cruise across the stunning coastline to Fisherman Island, explore beautiful golden beaches, walk through native forest, and enjoy an unforgettable surprise when a large New Zealand fur seal appears only metres away. Next, we visit the famous Split Apple Rock before spotting anglers fishing from the shore. We decide to try our luck nearby and are rewarded with several legal snapper, making the day even more memorable. Day two greets us with perfect summer weather at The Barn Cabins & Camp. We enjoy another incredible cruise around Split Apple Rock, continue along the spectacular Abel Tasman coastline towards Kaiteriteri, and soak up the crystal-clear water, golden beaches, and breathtaking scenery. On the drive home, we stop at the beautiful Pelorus Bridge, where emerald-green water and peaceful surroundings provide the perfect ending to an amazing weekend adventure.
