We’ve been living on a cruise ship for two weeks — and we’re already learning that full-time cruising is VERY different from taking a cruise vacation. We recently retired and started a 6-month experiment of full-time cruising to answer one big question: Could we actually live this way long term? Our first month is aboard Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas, and after two weeks onboard, some parts of cruise ship living have been much easier than we expected. Others? Not so much. In this two-week check-in, we’re sharing what we’ve learned so far about: Living on a cruise ship instead of vacationing on one Packing for months of travel How we're handling laundry onboard Staying healthy while surrounded by cruise food Getting 10,000+ steps and exercising in port The surprisingly difficult temptation of cruise ship desserts Whether we still love cruising after living onboard Building relationships with crew members The reality of cruise ship internet when you run a YouTube channel Living together in a much smaller space And the biggest question of all: could we eventually sell our house and live on cruise ships? We definitely don't have all the answers yet — we're only two weeks into a six-month experiment. And that’s exactly why we're bringing you along. Over the coming months we'll be cruising on different ships and cruise lines, dealing with travel days, changing cabins, managing expenses, staying healthy, keeping in touch with family and discovering whether long-term cruise living is actually sustainable for us. We want your help with this experiment. If you were considering living on cruise ships for months — or even retiring on a cruise ship — what would YOU want to know? 👇 Leave your questions in the comments. We’ll answer as many as we can during our future check-ins. Subscribe to Cruising with Crystal and Marshall and follow our six-month retirement cruising experiment as we find out whether living at sea could really become our new normal. 0:00 Living on a Cruise Ship for 2 Weeks 2:40 Packing & Laundry for Long-Term Cruising 5:00 Can We Stay Healthy While Cruising? 12:25 Do We Still Love Cruising? 13:25 Why Long-Term Cruising Feels Different 17:15 The Downsides of Living on a Cruise Ship 21:20 What Does Full-Time Cruising Really Cost? 22:20 Could We Actually Do This Full-Time? #LivingOnACruiseShip #FullTimeCruising #RetirementCruising
