We ALMOST Skipped This Excursion...And It Blew Us Away! | Bay of Islands, New Zealand
We wrapped up our final cruise port stop in New Zealand at the stunning Bay of Islands! Normally, we avoid ship excursions and prefer exploring completely on our own, but with some onboard credit to use, we decided to roll the dice on a cruise line tour—and it turned out to be an incredible day. From tender boarding at the Celebrity Edge’s Magic Carpet to heading deep into Northland, our journey took us face-to-face with 2,000-year-old ancient Kauri forest giants and the mesmerizing bioluminescence of underground glowworm caves. Along the way, we made a pit stop at the famous Hundertwasser Toilets in Kawakawa, grabbed a classic Kiwi meat pie at a local bakehouse, shopped around town, and finished with a gorgeous coastal walk past Te Tii Beach back to the wharf. If you're planning a cruise to the Bay of Islands, Paihia, or exploring Northland New Zealand, here’s a full look at what to expect on this unforgettable day! 🔔 Subscribe for more travel vlogs & cruise adventures 👍 If you enjoyed the video, please give it a thumbs up and leave a comment below! 📍 Featured Locations & Highlights: Port: Bay of Islands / Paihia, Northland, New Zealand Ship: Celebrity Edge (Celebrity Cruises) Key Stops: Puketi Kauri Forest, Kawakawa Hundertwasser Bathrooms, Subterranean Glowworm Caves, Paihia, Te Tii Beach #BayOfIslands #NewZealandCruise #CelebrityEdge #NewZealandTravel #GlowwormCaves
