11 Days in Moorea, French Polynesia | Sofitel, Overwater Bungalow & Island Life
In the summer of 2021, we traveled from North Carolina to Moorea, French Polynesia, where we spent 11 incredible days at the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort. We started in a garden bungalow just steps from the beach before spending our final three nights in an overwater bungalow overlooking one of the most beautiful lagoons we've ever seen. In this video, we're taking you along for the entire experience — flying to Tahiti, taking the ferry to Moorea, settling into island life at the Sofitel, snorkeling in the lagoon, swimming with sharks and stingrays, taking a motu excursion, experiencing Polynesian food and culture, and enjoying some spectacular sunrises, sunsets and nighttime entertainment. You'll also see what everyday life became like after spending more than a week in one place — including David's morning runs, our favorite beach spot, some great meals around Moorea, and the now infamous 5-mile bicycle ride for a case of Hinano beer that may or may not have been worth the money saved. 🍺🚲 Moorea turned out to be one of those destinations we couldn't stop talking about after we came home. Five years later, it's still one of our favorite places we've ever visited — and we've since had the opportunity to help our own travel clients experience French Polynesia for themselves.
