50th Birthday Cruise on Celebrity Xcel Day 6 Grand Cayman
Would you believe one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean is just a short shuttle ride from the cruise port? Welcome back to Day 6 aboard Celebrity Xcel! We made it to the famous Seven Mile Beach and here’s everything you need to know about getting there. Getting there was easy. Our shuttle ride was quick, affordable, and the driver made sure everyone knew exactly where to meet for the return trip. We were dropped off at a public beach access area complete with restrooms, changing facilities, and convenient access right next to a resort property. The moment we stepped onto the sand, we understood why this beach is so famous. The water was crystal clear, the sand was powder soft, and there were tiny fish swimming all around us. Fun fact: Seven Mile Beach is consistently ranked among the top beaches in the Caribbean and is actually a little over six miles long despite its name! And of course, no travel day is complete without a surprise visitor. We met the friendliest beach dog who stopped by to say hello and soak up some attention. 🐕❤️ When it was time to head back we caught another sun dog, but this one was in the sky. On our way back to the port, we explored George Town, the vibrant capital of the Cayman Islands. The streets were lined with luxury boutiques, jewelry stores, local shops, restaurants, and one thing you definitely can't miss—chickens and roosters roaming freely throughout town! 🐓 If you're visiting on a cruise, here's a pro tip: Always leave yourself plenty of time to return to the ship. Tender lines can get long, and nobody wants to be the person waving goodbye from the dock! The downtown area is highly walkable and there’s so much to see and do. George Town offers some incredible opportunities to capture your ship anchored in the beautiful turquoise waters. If you’ve ever wanted to get a great photo of the ship in the water, now's the time to whip out your camera. 🌎 The world is filled with places like this just waiting to be explored.
