Cruise Excursion: Normandy, France-on Majestic Princess
Join us for one of the most meaningful days of our Grand European Adventure, as we travel from La Havre, France into Normandy, following in the footsteps of the Americans who fought here on D-Day. We began in Sainte-Mère-Èglise, one of the first French towns liberated on June 6, 1944, where we saw the famous paratrooper hanging from the church steeple. From there, we continue to Pointe du Hoc, walking among the bomb craters and German fortifications and looking over the cliffs scaled by the US Army Rangers. Next came Omaha Beach. Today it’s a peaceful and beautiful beach making it difficult to imagine what actually happened more than 80 years ago. Our final stop was the Normandy American cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. Walking among the thousands of White Crosses and Stars of David was a powerful and humbling way to end our day. Thank you for joining Lollie and Pop’s Crazy Adventures.
