EPISODE 78 We’re still exploring the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia — and this episode is packed with coastal beauty, local history, and (most importantly) a tasty mission… to find a proper Cornish “Oggie”! From our camp near Maitland, we head to the ever‑popular town of Moonta, often known as “Australia's Little Cornwall”. After tracking down breakfast (that famous pasty!), we cruise over to the stunning seaside spots of Port Hughes and Moonta Bay. It’s peak holiday season, so it’s awesome to see so many people out enjoying the ocean, the sunshine, and the laid‑back coastal vibe. Next up, we jump aboard Ryan’s Express for a ride through the Moonta copper mining area — such a fun way to take in the site and learn more about the mine and the lives of the Cornish miners who helped shape this region. Then it’s time to move camp to Port Pirie, where we dig into some surprisingly interesting facts about the town - from its transport links to its smelter and port history and after chatting with the locals, we cross the “bridge to nowhere,” because we’ve learned that nowhere is often where the interesting stuff hides. From Port Pirie, we take a day trip to another “Port”… Port Germein, home to the South Australia's longest wooden jetty — and wow… it’s LONG! A lovely little spot and definitely worth a visit.
