I Upgraded to a Koningsdam Signature Suite on Holland America — Was It Worth It?
I paid a lot to upgrade to a Koningsdam Signature Suite for our Alaska cruise on Holland America, here's an honest look at every inch of our cabin (Cabin 7102), and whether the extra space was actually worth it for three people. And no, this was not a budget cabin. But here’s what we got for the upgrade. A much larger room, a real sitting area with a big couch, a pull-down Murphy bed that made this work really well for three people, and enough storage that we honestly had trouble using it all. The bathroom was also a huge upgrade, with dual vanities, a jetted tub, and a separate glass-enclosed shower. Plus, the balcony was noticeably larger than a standard balcony cabin, which was a big win for Alaska. The catch? This is not a Neptune Suite, so you’re mostly paying for the space, not a long list of suite perks. For two people, a regular Verandah cabin might be enough. But for three of us, on a scenic Alaska cruise, this was an upgrade I was glad we had.
