DIY Naples Cruise Port Day: Exploring On Foot & Eating Local
A DIY day in Naples, Italy, turns out to be one of the best ways to experience the city straight from the cruise ship! Instead of booking an expensive shore excursion, we walked right off the port on foot to explore Naples on our own and it was pure magic. There’s something so freeing about getting lost on purpose in the narrow, historic alleys of Naples. From marveling at the incredible architecture inside the Galleria Umberto I to wandering through vibrant piazzas and soaking in the local art along the streets, skipping the structured tour allowed us to take in the city at our own pace. And of course, we couldn't leave Naples without diving headfirst into the incredible local food scene! We fueled our walking tour with authentic Neapolitan pizza, rich tiramisu, and fresh gelato while browsing local shops along the way. If you’re visiting Naples on a cruise and wondering if a self-guided, walkable day from the port is doable, this vlog proves you don't need a tour guide to have an unforgettable day in Italy.
