Boarding Holland America's Volendam | Our Canada & New England Cruise Begins!

It's finally cruise day! After spending a day exploring Boston, we're heading to the Flynn Cruiseport to board Holland America's Volendam and officially begin our 7-day Canada and New England cruise. Embarkation was surprisingly smooth, and before long we were walking onto Volendam, finding our obstructed ocean view stateroom on Deck 3, grabbing our first meal at the Lido, unpacking, decorating our door, and hiding our first cruise ducks. Then it was time for sailaway from Boston. It wasn't exactly perfect weather, but watching the ship pull away never gets old. We also get our first taste of life onboard Volendam, including the Crow's Nest, main dining room, World Stage, shops, casino, and of course, Steph's first ice cream of the cruise. Yes, we're counting them this time. This is only Day 1, and tomorrow we're waking up in Portland, Maine for our first port day. Thanks for cruising along with us!
