Lifeboat blocking my view? Is this balcony worth the price?

I usually book an inside cabin, but this time the cost difference to a balcony was so small, I just had to take the plunge! Then I saw the catch: a giant lifeboat directly outside. Did this "obstructed view" actually ruin the experience, or is seeing the sea straight ahead all that matters?
