Before the headlines, the Villa Vie Odyssey was sailing the world, offering its residents an extraordinary opportunity to make a cruise ship their home. On July 1, 2025, Vancouver Port Live captured the residential cruise ship during her visit to Vancouver, British Columbia. This eight-minute video features original footage of the Odyssey in Vancouver Harbour, set to music and speed of 2X. UPDATE – October 27, 2026 Villa Vie Residences has announced the suspension of operations in Cambodia after extraordinary increases in fuel costs and mounting financial pressures. Residents have been asked to disembark while the company explores restructuring and new financing. The future of the Villa Vie Odyssey remains uncertain. Originally built in 1993 and formerly sailing as the Braemar for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, the ship began its new life as a residential cruise vessel in 2024. Her ambitious mission was to offer residents the opportunity to live aboard while travelling the world. This footage captures the Odyssey during a different chapter in that remarkable journey, more than a year before the suspension of operations. Our thoughts are with the residents and crew facing an uncertain future.
