P&O Iona Northern Europe Cruise ....We finally find Santa
After leaving the port of Rotterdam our next port of call was Zeebrugge in Belgium . We had visited this port before when we visited the beautiful city of Bruges . This time we thought we would try another of Belgium's historical cities Ghent . Plus we knew for sure they had a Christmas market . Our trip was a P&O excursion ....Ghent on your own . So after breakfast we disembarked the ship for our one hour journey by coach to the city of Ghent . On arrival we left our coach with our guide who explained when and where we had to meet for the return to the ship . From first sight we new we were going to love the city ,beautiful old buildings ,some cobbled streets , trams , and of course the market . We headed straight for the market and enjoyed a trip on another Ferris Wheel ...seems to be a theme on this cruise . Before food and drink were needed to keep us going . Plenty of Christmasy stalls to look around ,it really did get you into the Festive spirit . After exploring more of the city it was almost time to head for the coach for the return journey. Our one complaint of this excursion was that it wasn't long enough . On arriving back at the ship with it seemed like every other passenger from Iona we queued for over an hour to get through Passport control . We were just grateful that the weather was dry . That evening we headed out for dinner in the main restaurant ,before going to the 7/10 club to listen to the very talented musicians . Then up to the Sky Dome for a little Silent Disco , then we finished the evening in the Crows Nest So ended a very enjoyable day as we set sail to our final port of Le Havre .
