The World Cruise Ship 🌎 Luxury Residential Yacht in Vancouver: Arrival, Sunsets & Sailaway Timelapse
Often mistaken for a cruise ship, The World is actually the largest private residential ship afloat — a floating neighbourhood people call home year-round. She rarely visits Vancouver, so we captured her entire stay in one timelapse: her arrival at Canada Place, a mid-stay reposition along the pier, and her departure — bookended by two of the most beautiful sunsets and twilights of the season over Coal Harbour and the North Shore mountains. What makes The World so unique: 🏠 Launched in 2002, she has 165 privately owned homes — from 290 sq ft studios to 3,240 sq ft four-bedroom residences — that have sold for roughly $2 million to $15 million. 🗳️ The residents own the ship and vote each year on where she sails, choosing from three proposed itineraries (they even vote on refurbishments). 🌍 She calls at around 100 ports a year, lingering two to five days each so residents can truly explore — including deep expeditions to places like Antarctica and the Northwest Passage. 👥 About 150 residents live aboard at any time, doubling for expedition voyages and the holidays. 🎾 Onboard life includes a full-size tennis court, spa, multiple restaurants and more — a small town at sea. Filmed from our front-row vantage right at Canada Place, the closest live view of Vancouver's cruise and residential ships, in crisp 2K HD. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 The World Canada Place Arrival 3:04 First sunset 04:15 First Twilight Departure 07:14 Repositioning from Canada Place at Dawn 11:30 Returning to Canada Place 16:00 Departure / sailaway 20:18 Sunset after Departure 23:02 Firey Twilight 25:25 Perfect end to a Vancouver Journey 🔴 Watch our 24/7 LIVE Vancouver cruise ship cam: https://youtube.com/live/rxyNjFKwzJA 🔔 Subscribe for daily ship arrivals, sunsets & Vancouver harbour views: https://www.youtube.com/@VancouverCityViews?sub_confirmation=1 📌 I have recordings of most Vancouver arrivals and sailaways — comment on the live stream and I'll share a link. #TheWorldShip #Vancouver #CruiseShip #Timelapse #CanadaPlace #Sunset #luxurycruiseship #cruiselife #cruiselifestyle
