Something's Very Wrong With Princess Cruises' OceanNow
Princess Cruises built OceanNow into one of the most talked-about features in Ocean Medallion — order food or drinks from anywhere on the ship and it finds you. But over the past year, guests across multiple ships have reported the same thing: delivery locations quietly disappearing, menus shrinking, and the pool deck — arguably the most obvious use case — going completely unavailable. I've sailed Princess through both eras: an excellent OceanNow experience on Royal Princess in 2024, and a frustrating one on Discovery Princess in January 2026, where poolside delivery wasn't available at all, on a sailing with well over 700 kids on board. I put five direct questions to Princess Cruises about what changed and why.
