Five Cruise Mistakes That Can Keep You From Boarding
Five mistakes can keep you from boarding, or end a cruise you have already paid for. This video covers the problems we see most often on embarkation day: travel to the ship, documents, final payment, conduct bans, and sailing with someone who has not handled those details. Flying the same day you embark, or booking the last flight the day before, leaves no room for a delay. Driving in has its own risks: parking, a rental drop-off, a shuttle, traffic, and the wrong terminal. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Port Canaveral are not interchangeable. A passport is the document we carry. A birth certificate and a driver's license can fail even on a closed-loop cruise, and Real ID is not the same as an Enhanced ID. The passport should be valid for six months after the cruise ends, the name should match the booking, and it should stay in a carry-on, not with the porter. Some countries also require a travel authorization, such as the UK ETA, even when they do not require a visa. Minors, and children sailing with one parent or a grandparent, can be stopped without the right consent papers. Final payment fails when a card is expired, blocked, or replaced. A booking can also disappear from a cruise-line profile on embarkation morning. Keep a 24-hour contact number, and print the boarding documents for everyone in the party. A ban is not limited to one brand. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity share an owner; Carnival Corporation includes Holland America, Princess, Cunard, and P&O. Drugs, weapons, and arguing with security are reliable ways to be denied boarding. Prescription medicine should be packed so it can be explained, not debated at the gangway. The last mistake is sailing with someone who booked the travel, let a passport lapse, or is not the person who actually paid. If you planned the cruise, confirm their documents and payment yourself. We cover these mistakes so the cruise you saved for is the one you board. 00:00 Five Mistakes That Can Sink Your Cruise 00:14 Mistake 1: Getting to the Ship 04:01 Mistake 2: Documents and ID 09:17 Mistake 3: Payment and the Booking 10:42 Mistake 4: Conduct That Can Get You Banned 11:40 Mistake 5: Traveling With Someone Unprepared 14:21 Why These Mistakes Cost the Cruise #CruiseTips #CruiseMistakes #FirstTimeCruiser ``` Subscribe for honest cruise and travel reviews: https://www.youtube.com/@TravelingWithChrisAndWendy?sub_confirmation=1
