An Icelandic Guide, Jules Verne’s Volcano & One Very Windy Interview 🌋🌬️

What makes expedition cruising different from traditional travel? It’s not just the places you visit. It’s the people who help you understand them. While exploring Snæfellsjökull National Park in Iceland—the glacier-capped volcano that inspired Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth—I sat down with Kacper, one of Aurora Expeditions’ Icelandic guides. As part of my expedition team interview series, I asked him four questions: • What’s your name? • What do you do onboard? • What do you love most about your job? • Why should someone take an expedition cruise? The interview took place overlooking ancient lava fields and the North Atlantic Ocean, which made for an incredible backdrop. It also made for an incredible amount of wind.
