A Walk Down Umbrella Street in Puerto Plata, DR | Dominican Republic
Umbrella Street is one of the most popular photo stops in downtown Puerto Plata and an easy place to visit if you are exploring the city from the Taino Bay cruise port. It's just a short 15 minute walk from the port once you leave the port area itself. The street is covered with rows of colorful umbrellas suspended overhead, creating a canopy above the shops, restaurants and small businesses lining the street. It is especially popular with cruise passengers because it is easy to reach on foot and makes for a great quick photo or video stop. You do not need a lot of time here. A walk through the street, a few photos, maybe a stop for a drink or a look inside one of the nearby shops, and you can continue exploring the historic center. If you are spending a few hours walking around Puerto Plata, Umbrella Street is one of those simple stops that is worth adding to the route. #PuertoPlata #DominicanRepublic #UmbrellaStreet #CruisePort #CaribbeanCruise
