Underwater with Fluid Tahiti

Diving has always been one of the ways I feel most alive — quiet, curious, fully present. This day in Papeete with Fluid Tahiti was a perfect reminder of why I love it so much. It felt especially meaningful to dive here after meeting Dorothée at the DEMA Dive Show in Orlando, where we first talked about Tahiti, the ocean, and the magic of diving in French Polynesia. To have that conversation turn into real dives in the water — before boarding my Windstar cruise — felt like one of those full-circle travel moments I treasure. The diving in Papeete is exceptional: short boat rides, calm conditions, warm water, and thriving marine life. Across two dives — 3 Pitons and The Spring — turtles were with us throughout, gliding past the reef and resting below. We saw a shark cruising in the blue, a sleeping white tip reef shark, healthy coral, schools of small fish, and felt the shift of a thermocline near the spring as the light softened toward sunset. Everything here flows easily when you’re with a great team, and Fluid Tahiti delivers that beautifully — thoughtful guiding, smooth logistics, and a deep respect for the ocean.
