Welcome to the Crossroads! Can you explore Nassau from the cruise port without booking an excursion? In this self-guided Nassau walking tour, I’ll show you a complete route connecting many of the city’s best-known historic sights, local attractions, downtown shopping, and Junkanoo Beach. We begin at the Nassau Cruise Port and follow the route to (locations below include links if they have websites or locations with tours you can book): 📍 Queen’s Staircase- https://queensstaircase.com/ 📍 Fort Fincastle- https://nassaubahamasguide.com/destination/fort-fincastle-bahamas/ 📍 Government House- https://www.bahamas.com/plan-your-trip/things-to-do/government-house 📍 Graycliff Chocolatier- https://www.graycliff.com/ 📍 National Art Gallery of The Bahamas- https://nagb.org.bs/ 📍 John Watling’s Distillery- https://johnwatlings.com/ 📍 Junkanoo Beach 📍 Pirates of Nassau- http://www.piratesofnassau.com/ 📍 The Pompey Museum area and our ice-cream stop- https://discoverbahamas.com/directory/pompey-museum-listing-3655.aspx 📍 Nassau Straw Market 📍 Return to the cruise port Along the way, I’ll show you the route between stops, important street names, approximate distances and estimated walking times. We’ll also look at three ways to experience the route depending on how much time and walking you want to do: 🔵 SHORT LOOP Approximately 1.85 miles Approximately 40–45 minutes of walking 🔴 HISTORIC LOOP Approximately 2.55 miles Approximately 55–60 minutes of walking ⚫ FULL 11-STOP LOOP Approximately 3.15 miles Approximately 65–75 minutes of walking These estimates cover walking time only. Remember to add time for sightseeing, shopping, food, drinks, photographs and the beach. Most importantly is to be sure you have the correct time and get back on the ship before you become a pier runner for everyone's TikTok videos! During our visit, the normal route between the Queen’s Staircase and Fort Fincastle was fenced off. We followed a longer alternate route along Prison Lane and through an uphill wooded path. Closures and access conditions can change, so verify the current route before beginning your walk. This is not an uninterrupted real-time walk or a complete interior tour of every attraction. It is a practical route guide designed to help cruise passengers decide what they can comfortably see from the Nassau cruise port without purchasing an organized excursion. Distances begin at the pedestrian exit from the cruise port. Depending on your ship’s berth, allow additional time to walk between the ship and the port entrance. Admission prices, operating hours, businesses, closures, and walking conditions can change. If this guide helped you plan your Nassau port day, please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to Brent’s Crossroads, and let me know which version of the walk you would choose.
