What is an “EXPEDITION” cruise? 🚢👇 Day 5 of our Arctic journey with poseidonexpeditions took us somewhere no itinerary could ever plan for! 🧭✨ The main difference between a traditional cruise and an expedition is that on an expedition, conditions dictate everything! And today was a prime example of true, spontaneous exploration! 🗺️👀 Because the ice and weather were so good, our captain and crew decided to throw out the plan and explore brand new territory 👇 🛷 First Landing & Impromptu Sledding We boarded the Zodiacs to land at a remote, unnamed site packed with glaciers, soaring snow-capped peaks, and tundra. Sledding wasn’t on our Arctic bucket list, but making our own adventure here was a total BLAST! ❄️ 🍖 Deck BBQ in Paradise When weather permits, Poseidon throws a legendary BBQ feast on the top deck! Soaking in sunshine and blue skies while eating surrounded by giant icebergs was purely breathtaking. 🥩☀️ 🏔️ Walking on “APEX Glacier” Our second excursion took us to a glacier discovered by the Poseidon team just last year. Since it had no official recorded name, they dubbed it the Awesome Poseidon Expedition Team Glacier (APEX Glacier for short)!
