Hurricane Lala Hits Hawaii: 10 AM Update From Our Cruise Ship
10 AM update. Tropical Storm Lala is closing on the Big Island, and our captain has us heading south at 10 knts to steer clear. Seas are running 7 1/2 to 8 feet, so we’ve got some rock and roll but the ship is handling it well. Lala is expected to become a hurricane before hitting Hawaii this weekend, the first hurricane strike on the islands since Iniki in 1992.
