We Couldn’t See Hubbard Glacier… But It Became Our Best Day | Norwegian Joy
What was supposed to be one of the most scenic days of our Alaska cruise turned into something completely different. We start the day aboard Norwegian Joy with Bloody Marys at the Mojito Bar before Barney surprises me with presents. Then we head to the bow of the ship, which is opened specially for Glacier Day, hoping for an incredible view of Hubbard Glacier. Instead, we get fog. Lots and lots of fog. 🌫️ But apparently disappointment is expensive, because we decide to make our own fun. We hit the onboard shops for watches, cologne and a little retail therapy, grab lunch at the buffet and check out the barbecue restaurant, then head back to Mandara Spa for manicures and pedicures. The night keeps going with dinner in the main dining room, Levity Live comedy, the Jaxtones performing Top 40 hits, and finally a trip to The Social for some very enthusiastic ’90s dancing. We may not have seen Hubbard Glacier, but somehow this ended up becoming one of my favorite days of the entire cruise.
