Alicante Bike Tour: Our Final Cruise Stop Before Barcelona
Our Alicante bike tour took us through beaches, historic streets, and stories hidden around the city. It was our final cruise stop, and a fitting way to end this part of our journey. With limited time in Alicante, Spain, we booked a family bike tour to experience more than we could have seen on foot. We followed the coast, rode through old railway tunnels and stopped at places connected to Alicante’s Roman, Moorish and maritime history. Along the way, we visited some memorable things to do in Alicante, including the Explanada, Casa Carbonell, Santa María Basilica and Playa de la Albufereta. Traveling with three kids always changes how we experience a place, and exploring Alicante by bike gave us time to notice the everyday details between the landmarks. After returning to the Alicante cruise port, we boarded the ship for our final evening at sea before reaching Barcelona. We also took a quiet walk around the ship and shared a little of the place that had been our moving home during this journey.
