Our First Stop After 9 Days at Sea | Ponta Delgada
After nine days at sea, Ponta Delgada cruise port in the Azores was our first stop during our transatlantic cruise. We were so excited to finally step onto land and explore São Miguel Island! We booked a tour that took us around the ridge of the Sete Cidades caldera. At first, it was so foggy we couldn’t see much, but luckily the fog slowly lifted, and we finally saw the two beautiful lakes below. The drive really surprised and amazed us. The scenery was beautiful, and our guide shared so much interesting information about the island along the way. We then drove down inside the caldera and back up to see it from another viewpoint. After the tour, our guide dropped us back at the port, and we went for a walk around downtown Ponta Delgada before returning to the ship. We really loved this stop.
